3-Day Live Coral Guarantee | Lucky Corals

At Lucky Corals, we want you to feel confident ordering live corals online. Every coral we ship is backed by our 3-Day (72-Hour) Live Coral Guarantee.

Our guarantee goes beyond simply making sure your coral is alive when the box arrives. We guarantee that your coral will arrive alive and remain alive for 72 hours after delivery, subject to the requirements below.

Our Guarantee

If a coral arrives dead or does not survive during the first 72 hours after delivery, contact us and we'll make it right.

Approved claims will receive store credit equal to the purchase price of the affected coral.

The 72-hour guarantee period begins at the carrier-recorded delivery time, not the originally scheduled delivery time.

Carrier Delays Are Covered

Carrier delays do not void our guarantee.

Once your order has been shipped, we understand that delays caused by FedEx or another shipping carrier are outside of your control. A routing delay, weather delay, mechanical issue, missed connection, or other carrier-caused delay while your package is in transit will not void your 3-Day Live Coral Guarantee.

If an overnight shipment is delayed and arrives a day or more later than originally scheduled, the coral remains covered.

The full 72-hour guarantee period begins when the carrier records the package as successfully delivered.

Delivery Requirements

To qualify for our 3-Day Live Coral Guarantee, the shipment must be successfully delivered on the carrier's first delivery attempt.

A signature is not required for delivery. Because of this, customers are responsible for monitoring shipment tracking and arranging for the package to be brought indoors promptly after delivery.

The guarantee does not cover losses resulting from a package being left outside, exposed to the elements, or otherwise unattended for an extended period after the carrier has successfully delivered it.

If the carrier is unable to complete the first delivery attempt because no one is available when required, access to the delivery location is unavailable, an incorrect or incomplete address was provided, or for another customer-related reason, the shipment will no longer qualify for the guarantee.

Carrier-caused delays occurring before the first successful delivery remain covered.

If a Coral Arrives Dead

If a coral is dead when your shipment arrives, please contact us as soon as possible.

Please provide:

  • Your order number
  • A clear photo of the affected coral
  • A brief description of its condition upon arrival

When possible, please photograph a coral that arrives dead while it is still in its original shipping bag.

Please do not discard the coral until we have had an opportunity to review your claim.

If a Coral Does Not Survive Within 72 Hours

Shipping and acclimation can be stressful for live corals. A coral may occasionally arrive alive but decline following shipment, which is why our protection doesn't end when the box reaches your door.

If a coral does not survive during the first 72 hours, contact us within 72 hours of the carrier-recorded delivery time.

Please provide:

  • Your order number
  • A clear white-light photo of the affected coral
  • A brief description of what happened

We may also ask for basic aquarium information or water parameters to help us understand what happened.

Aquarium & Acclimation Requirements

Corals must be placed into an established saltwater aquarium with appropriate conditions for the species.

Customers are responsible for providing appropriate salinity, temperature, water quality, lighting, and flow and for properly acclimating newly received corals.

Our guarantee does not cover losses caused by aquarium conditions or events occurring after delivery that are unrelated to shipping or the condition of the coral when received.

These may include:

  • Improper or unstable water parameters
  • Significant salinity or temperature changes after delivery
  • Improper acclimation
  • Inappropriate lighting or water flow
  • Physical damage occurring after delivery
  • Damage caused by fish, invertebrates, or other aquarium inhabitants
  • Existing aquarium pests or disease
  • Equipment failures or other aquarium-related incidents

Normal Shipping Stress

Corals can look very different immediately after shipping than they do once acclimated to an established aquarium.

Temporary retraction, closed polyps, mucus production, reduced polyp extension, deflation, or temporary changes in coloration can all occur following shipment and do not by themselves indicate that a coral is dead.

If you're concerned about a coral's condition, please contact us. We're happy to help determine whether the coral is experiencing normal shipping stress or if there may be a problem.

Store Credit

Approved claims will receive store credit equal to the purchase price paid for the affected coral.

Shipping charges are not refundable and are not included in the credit.

Store credit may be applied toward a future Lucky Corals purchase. If the credit is used toward a replacement coral, normal shipping charges apply unless the new order otherwise qualifies for free shipping.

Guarantee Exclusions

The 3-Day Live Coral Guarantee does not apply when:

  • The shipment is not successfully delivered on the carrier's first delivery attempt for a customer-related reason
  • An incorrect or incomplete shipping address was provided
  • The package is left outside or unattended for an extended period following successful delivery
  • A claim is submitted more than 72 hours after the carrier-recorded delivery time
  • Requested photographs or other reasonable information needed to evaluate the claim are not provided
  • The coral is discarded before we have an opportunity to review the claim
  • The loss results from aquarium conditions, improper acclimation, livestock interactions, pests, equipment failure, or another event occurring after delivery that is unrelated to shipping or the condition of the coral when received

Carrier delays alone are not an exclusion and do not void the guarantee.
