Blasto Corals for Sale

Blastomussa corals, commonly called Blasto corals, are colorful large-polyp stony (LPS) corals prized for their fleshy polyps and intense color combinations along with their ability to thrive in lower light. Blastos are available in everything from classic red and green varieties to rainbow specimens displaying combinations of red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple.

Lucky Corals offers individual Blastomussa coral frags and colonies, including unusual and rare color morphs. Because individual corals can vary considerably in coloration, size and polyp pattern, check each product listing for photographs and details of the available specimen or variant.

Blasto Coral Care

Blastomussa generally prefer lower to moderate lighting and gentle to moderate water flow. Blastos oftern thrive in very low par of 20+. Strong direct flow can prevent the fleshy polyps from fully expanding. They can be placed on rockwork or lower areas of the aquarium depending on the lighting and flow in your reef.

Like other LPS corals, Blastos can benefit from occasional feeding, although feeding isn't required for them to obtain energy from their symbiotic algae. Give colonies enough room to expand without being irritated by neighboring corals.

Choosing a Blasto Coral

When choosing a Blasto, look beyond the trade name and consider the actual coloration, polyp size and pattern of the coral. Names such as rainbow, red, green and multicolor Blasto are useful descriptions, but individual specimens can vary.
