About Goniopora & Alveopora Corals
Goniopora corals, commonly known as Flowerpot Corals, are colorful LPS corals known for their long, flowing polyps. Alveopora are similar in appearance but only have 12 petals, while Goniopora have 24 petals. Its best to avoid having Goniopora and Alveopora touch much as fighting can occur. Popular Goniopora varieties include red, pink, green, yellow, orange and multicolor strains such as Amazeballs, Glitter Bomb and Rainbow Glitter Goniopora.
Goniopora & Alveopora Care
Goniopora generally prefer moderate lighting and gentle to moderate, indirect water flow that allows their polyps to move without being constantly blasted. Alveopora have a similar appearance and care requirements. Stable reef aquarium conditions are important for both.
